The Writing Center is an academic support resource intended to support writing at all levels and in all disciplines on campus.听 We supplement faculty instruction and office hours by offering a 鈥渞ehearsal space鈥 for writers where they can receive candid feedback and advice from readers with experience teaching writing.

Required Visit Policy
We encourage faculty to recommend the Writing Center to all students. However, we prohibit required visits because we lack the capacity to accommodate them and have found that students are far less engaged when they鈥檙e mandated to visit.
Proof of Visits Policy
The Writing Center does not provide proof of visits.听 For faculty who would like to offer extra credit if their student visits, we recommend asking the student to write a short paragraph describing what they learned during the visit.听 This reinforces the lessons from their session and provides insight about how the session may have benefited the student鈥檚 learning.
