Justin Johnson is a full-time instructor and director supporting the musical theatre program at the 澳门六合彩历史记录 College of Music. He has been involved in over 70 productions鈥攅ither as an actor, production manager or director. Some of his most recent directing gigs include 鈥淎venue Q,鈥 鈥淧oltergeist,鈥 鈥淯rinetown,鈥 鈥淭he ThreePenny Opera,鈥 鈥淢amma Mia!鈥 and 鈥淭he Drowsy Chaperone.鈥 His favorite performing credits include Patsy in 鈥淪pamalot,鈥 Paul in 鈥淏arefoot in the Park,鈥 Greg in 鈥淪ylvia,鈥 Wadsworth in 鈥淐lue,鈥 Lenny in 鈥淩umors,鈥 Selznick in 鈥淢oonlight and Magnolias鈥 and The Scarecrow in 鈥淭he Wizard of Oz.鈥

Johnson recently wrote and facilitated a program to train applied theatre practitioners that premiered at Bosch Bah谩鈥櫭 School in California and brought the same applied theatre work to the 2019 Newkind Festival in Tasmania, Australia. He leveraged this work as a foundation to build his own theatre company鈥擱adiant Hearts Theatre鈥攚hich focuses on theatre for social change. Johnson has facilitated his theatre for social change workshops all over the country, including Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon and Illinois. He has also participated in Playback Theatre performances, including the National Diversity and Inclusion Conference in Virginia.听

Johnson won a 2018 Meritorious Acting Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for his performance in 鈥淭he Comedy of Errors鈥 and earned a spot in the 2019 Colorado Shakespeare Festival as a company member in 鈥淐harles III.鈥

Johnson earned a master鈥檚 degree in theatre and performance studies at our Department of Theatre & Dance.
