Alejandro Casta帽o is a Denver-based jazz and Afro-Cuban drummer and percussionist. A first-generation Colombian and Cuban-American, he draws inspiration from his culture for his music.

Casta帽o is an active performer and educator in the United States and abroad. He has performed and recorded with Chuchito Vald茅s, Ron Miles, Benny Benack III, Gerardo Aguill贸n, Raul Murciano, Steve Turre, Jonathan Powell, Greg Gisbert, Annie Booth and others.

He has conducted master classes at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Truman State University, University of Jamestown and University of Wyoming. Since 2012, he has been a guest artist and educator at the National University of Costa Rica.

Casta帽o earned a Master of Music in jazz performance and pedagogy from the 澳门六合彩历史记录 where he researched the music of Cuba. He is now an educator at the 澳门六合彩历史记录, Denver School of the Arts and Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts.

Casta帽o performs regularly at Denver jazz venues and beyond.
